Murphy" very interesting since the book contains financial secrets and insights from the great ancient civilization Babylon. It is interesting to know that people in ancient Babylon share similar financial practices as today modern world.

Proton Cars Suck

Way back in 1998 after my graduation, I was sort of a nationalist and believe in buying Malaysian products. But now, after owning my second proton car (a proton Gen-2) - I can conclude that Proton Cars Suck..piece of junk. Proton the company is a disgrace, a betrayal to the trust given to the company by million of Malaysians including myself. Few shameful about my Gen-2:

a) Front left power window is not functioning even after 2 or 3 times repair work (under warranty). The last time I sent for repair, the window malfuntioned again the next day. I don't bother sending again since I do not have the luxury to no have my car. Damn you proton. Don't you get it. Do you think I can send my car for service every day?

b) Everytime I drive over 100Km/hour, I can hear airflow coming in through god knows some gaps somewhere. I did send to Proton service center. They supposed to have done something. But no difference. I guess their modus operandi is to get my signature that they have done what they could. They know that most people would not be able to follow-up as often as we should.

c) Not to say your service center staffs suck! They never return my call even when I have specifically ask for the boss to complaint about my car...

I hope somebody from Proton read this and refund me with something... Yeah rite.. I wish!!

A very old entry in my diary dated August 3rd, 2001. Amazing indeed - looking at the date of the entry but don't ask me the result so far. Not very encouraging.

With a current fund amount of $0 and a desired total fund amount of RM1,000,000 earning 8% interest, you will need to contribute $21,852.21 each year, in order to reach your goal by a retirement age of 46. Thus, you will need to save minimum RM1821.0175 a month

Is Linux "disruptive technology"?

A disruptive technology is a new technological innovation, product, or service that eventually overturns the existing dominant technology in the market, despite the fact that the disruptive technology is both radically different from the leading technology and that it often initially performs worse than the leading technology according to existing measures of performance. A disruptive technology comes to dominate an existing market by either filling a role in a new market that the older technology could not fill or overlook certain dimension of requirements.

The internal combustion & steam engines took centuries to establish themselves, but eventually rendered animal/people power obsolete on their ability to scale up to much higher power outputs and offer greater reliability.

Will Windows get the same fate in the hands of Linux? Propriety Unix is almost dead indicating that the notion is not merely a myth.

Guiding principle

"Preoccupation with the future have caused people to overlook the present. Effecting the quality of present time" - of couse not mine
I want to become focus at present time. Give in as much quality time as possible to myself and to everybody around me.
I learned valuable lesson today. I've learned how I should conciously make people comfortable with me. I should be more concious at any moment of time. In eastern philosophical term, live the present moment. Or in western philosophical term, Carpe Diem - seize the moment. Act conciously is the key to social grace..

That was what I put in my diary dated June 27, 2001. Of couse, it has been one of my guiding principles way back since I was exposed to western civilization. As much as I want it to be my guding principle, emotions and innate printed instincts have always get on the way.
